Rudolph has been spotted grazing outside Beer Scout hut.
The Explorer Scouts have been busy and have created a large pointed model of Rudolph using rope and barrels. of and electrics for his nose.

Scouts from Beer and Seaton Scout groups have been practising hard for weeks for the Devon scouting equivalent of TV’s Master Chef.
The competition challenged young people to cook a three course meal using a 2 ring gas burner, in 2 hours for 4 people on a budget of only £17. The other limitation was to only use a small amount of pans to cook with. As any chef would agree it’s a difficult task.

After winning the Devon Country Scout cooking competition the team from Beer Scout Group headed once again up to Cheltenham for the South West Regional Cooking completion.
This year the theme was made in Britain so the teams menu was:
Starter – Haggis on a bed of mashed potato topped with a poached egg.
Main – Locally caught Whiting pan fried, served on a potato rostie, with peas.
Desert – homemade vanilla cheesecake served with strawberries.

Former Beer Scout Henry Richards helped his former Group with their annual fundraiser this weekend.

Henry Richards was always an active member of the troop and used to enjoy the annual Christmas tree shredding fundraiser. However in the past few years the group has been unable to hire a shredder to dispose of the trees so had to burn them instead. Henry approached his boss Bruce Smith of Sid Valley Tree Surgery & Landscapes to see if they could assist.

An amazing feat has just occurred at the Beer Scout Beaver Colony.
11 of the young people have worked extremely hard and gained their Bronze Chief Scout Award the highest award a Beaver Scout can gain.
It is gained by completing:
• Creative Challenge
• Fitness Challenge
• Friendship Challenge
• Global Challenge
• Outdoor Challenge
• Promise Challenge.
The awards were presented by Ian Priestley the group’s chairman on a sunny after flying kites they had worked hard marking.

WITH the winter weather having arrived, 1st Beer Scouts & Axe Air Explorers will be delighted to hear that the fund to refurbish their hut has been given a huge boost.

Customers at the Tesco store in Seaton generously handed over £800 in thanks for the Scouts helping out with bag packing last weekend.
The money will go towards the extensive refurbishment project which so far has seen the removal of the asbestos cladding and insulation of three-quarters of the outside. New radiators have also been donated and installed but as yet …

 Watch out during the week of 2th June  – 6 th June 2014 as all section of the Beer scout group will be taking part in Community week – (once known as Bob a Job)
Every section from the youngest beavers , to the oldest explorer scout  will be seen in the village cleaning, clearing and painting to make their village sparkle.
If you want to join with us then feel free to don your old clothes and wellies and just give us a hand.
